Hydroponic Garden

"Hydroponics - the process of growing plants in sand, gravel, or liquid, with added nutrients but without soil."

"The earliest published work on growing terrestrial plants without soil was the 1627 book Sylva Sylvarum by Francis Bacon, printed a year after his death"

Having a hydroponics garden is a great way to reduce the amount of money spent monthly on common house hold herbs. Using a few household items one can easily build their own garden to start growing the herb of their own desire. People use this method to save money and grow things such as lettuces, tomatoes, celery, spring onions and herbs.

Hydroponically grown foods are ideally better tasting and better for you because they are not exposed to any form of pesticide and it is harder for them to become exposed to air born disease.

  1. I enjoyed reading this blog because personally, I enjoy organically grown foods and actually would try a Hydroponic garden. However, is it by personal opinion that the foods grown have a more appealing taste? Also, it is possible for these foods to be at risk at other household environmental risks to not grow as well? I think this is a great idea, and it sounds simple enough, I am just curious at the other factors that might effect growth and taste, and if the upkeep of this system would be to demanding.
